Player Numbers And What They Represent On The Football Pitch

The following are common player numbers and what they represent on the football field of play:
Goalkeepers 
1- If the goal keeper, remains the first choice goal keeper to be at the goal post during the football match
13/25- If they are substitute goal keepers
Defenders
2- This means a defender plays at the right back position of the football field 
3- This means the player plays at the left back position of the football field 
5- This means the player plays at the centre back position 
Midfielder
6- This means the player plays at the central defence within the midfield area of the football pitch, but just a little more offensive this time.
7- This means the player plays at the right wing of the offensive 
11- This means the player plays on the left wing of the offensive 
8- This means the player plays at the centre of the football pitch 
10- This means that the player plays at the midfield but this time more attacking 
9- This means that the player plays in a striking position, that is around the eighteen yard area or as a centre forward
